BREAKING: Liberal North Idaho City Councilor Sued By Local Republicans After False Money Laundering Accusations

Getting Sued: For “Dummies”

(Coeur d’Alene, Idaho) — Moment’s before Tuesday evening’s Coeur d’Alene City Council meeting, liberal republican City Councilor Dan Gookin was served with a lawsuit from the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee.

The lawsuit, which was filed in District Court, alleges that “Gookin has demonstrated profound ill will and malice toward many KCRCC officers and affiliated candidates – in particular, KCRCC’s Chairman, Brent Regan.”

The KCRCC released a statement on their website saying:

“The KCRCC appreciates that Gookin is entitled to engage in speech that is protected by the First Amendment. However, his recent statements have crossed the line from protected speech into unprotected defamation because they accuse KCRCC of rigging its 2023 candidate “rating and vetting” process, perpetrating a fraud on its members, and violating campaign finance laws – things which simply have not happened.

“Gookin has a long history of being critical of the KCRCC, which is his First Amendment right, but when he makes claims that the KCRCC committed criminal acts he crosses the line into defamation. The KCRCC has every right to defend itself against these false accusations.“

The lawsuit alleges that several posts Gookin made were defamatory and caused harm to the local Republican party. In one post mentioned in the suit, Gookin falsely accused the local republicans of engaging in money laundering.

The suit alleges that these posts are “per se defamatory because the conduct of which Gookin accuses KCRCC is not only illegal, but wholly incompatible with its business as a political committee.”

Further, the suit alleges that:

“Gookin published the Defamatory Posts with actual malice. He knew each Defamatory Post was false or acted in reckless disregard of that fact at the time he published each Defamatory Post, as evidenced by his firsthand knowledge of KCRCC’s ‘rating and vetting’ process and its operations more generally, as well the utter lack of any factual basis for the Defamatory Posts.”

Gookin has recently come under heavy fire after losing his cool at a Republican Women luncheon, when he angrily began shouting at the room full of ladies, calling them “white supremacists,” “racists,” and other Left-Wing tropes.

Gookin is well known in the community. His original claim to fame is because he’s the guy that came up with the “For Dummies” series of books.

Eventually, everyone figured out that he probably thinks everyone around him really IS a Dummy.

That’s when he started going on profanity laced tirades on his YouTube Channel where he routinely berates and demeans local women and Republicans activists.

It’s something he’s been doing for a very, very long time.

He even made fun of local mothers, accusing them of “getting off” on reading pornographic sections of books into the record at library board meetings and legislative hearings. He edited a little video about this, complete with porno-style music and sound effects:

Disgusting. And he has the audacity to claim that there’s nothing wrong with the books in the libraries…

So now, you understand why he was so hostile to the women at the luncheon – because he hates them. He has hated them openly for a long time.

Something else Gookin hates is prayer. He once called it “3 minutes of wasted time” to local pastor Paul Van Noy’s face, before voting to ruin prayer before public meetings.

Gookin even went as far as participating in a Democrat meeting last winter where he, along with fellow city counselor Chistie Wood and other radical left-wing activists, discussed doxxing and pressuring elected officials in order to regain control of North Idaho College.

All three city counselors even participated in the disruption at North Idaho College last December, where “someone” pulled the fire alarm in the middle of a contentious meeting.

Although Dan is a member of the local Republican Party, he is far from a conservative.

He spearheaded the push for gay marriage in Coeur d’Alene, which forced the Hitching Post to temporarily close, and got the City sued for infringing on the First Amendment.

He’s really into some bad stuff.

Gookin’s running mate, Christie Wood, is even worse.
