Who Are The Real Haters? – Letters To The Editor

We receive letters from local readers of the Idaho Tribune all the time, but this is the first “Letter to the Editor” that we have decided to publish. We will be posting more in the future, and you can send us a letter by clicking here. – Idaho Tribune

I am a conservative resident of North Idaho since 1992. I am so grateful for the influx of new conservatives pouring into our area. Thanks to them, I (and most of my friends) are having our eyes opened to what’s been going on in Idaho, right under our noses. Something was wrong, but we did not know what.

Contrary to the Left's claim that we are being deluged with "Far right extremist (Christian Nationalists)" what is actually happening is, like minded people searching for the safe haven of constitutional freedom are coming here and pointing out what to them is obvious, but which has eluded us poor, trusting fools for a couple of decades now.

We have faithfully voted Republican all these years, unknowingly electing RINOs, and then wondering why our state kept skidding to the left until we suddenly found ourselves in the weeds.

Over the years, even though Richard Butler and his “compound” are long gone, our reputation as a “white supremacist stronghold” has persisted. Who is keeping this myth alive, and why? Who is keeping this myth alive, and why? The Human Rights Education Task Force, created to oppose white supremacists like Butler, has, under the leadership of Cd’A city council member Christie Wood, been working tirelessly to uncover and root out “racism” wherever she can find it.

“Idaho is a haven for white supremacists!” They cry. “They are everywhere! We must be vigilant, ready to stomp them if they poke their ugly heads out for even a minute.”

Finding “haters” has been difficult, however, in a state where minority groups are almost non-existent. Perhaps this is why someone thought it was necessary to create some “hate crime-hoaxes,” evidence to support the claim that Idaho is a “haven” for white supremacists. Rachel Dolezal was willing to help with this.

On staff in 2010 at the Human Rights Education Institute, presumably under the watchful eye of Christie Wood, Dolezal reported many alleged hate crimes that were never substantiated. A local reporter became suspicious when new hate crime reports were filed by Dolezal after she moved to Spokane. Investigative reporter Jeff Selle of Idaho’s Coeur d’Alene Press commented, “There hadn’t been a string of hate crimes until she shows up...and now with them allegedly happening in Spokane, I said, ‘This looks fishy.’ ”

It turns out that every one of the alleged hate crimes against her was a hoax. It was then discovered that Rachel Dolezal herself was a hoax. A white woman masquerading as an African American! Ironic!

Did Christie Wood know Rachel was a faker? Did she suspect that the 9 purported “hate crimes” filed with authorities were hoaxes? These hate crimes prompted local human rights activist Tony Stewart to publicly state, “racially motivated incidents are on the rise here.“

Christie Wood continues to push the false narrative that white supremacists are trying to take over. As the far left typically does when no other reason exists to silence someone, just call them racists. A recent example of this happened while she was sitting as a trustee at NIC.

In an attempt to discredit and remove two other trustees who were not in agreement with her radical left wing agenda, Christie claimed “...a takeover of the North Idaho College Board of Trustees by far right ideologues…” was occurring. Look up “Far right ideologues” and you will find at least 10 descriptions, all of which reference white supremacy or White Nationalism.

This is a common tactic used by communists, the mafia, and far left politicians. Accuse others of doing what they themselves are doing, so no one realizes that it is they who are doing it.

So, who are the real “haters”? Who was really trying to take over the NIC board? Maybe it was Christie Wood, and now maybe it is her appointed comrades and the candidates they are promoting.

Fortunately, the citizens of North Idaho will have the final say on who controls the college. There is no need for fake hand wringing over accreditation. It is time to prioritize academic opportunity for all those who live in the Northern Panhandle.

Sheridan, Hartman and Waggoner promise to bring back a culture of excellence to NIC. Please vote for them. Conservative parents might start sending their kids to NIC again if they feel it is a safe place for them to learn. Keep NIC free of those who hate our conservative values.
