Giant ‘Communist Fist’ to be Erected in Coeur d’Alene Idaho — Controversial ‘Art’ Gains Unanimous Support from Arts Commission

After zero debate, the Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission voted in support of erecting a giant ‘Communist Fist’ statue. The ‘artwork’ will likely be paid for using local tax dollars.

In the video compiled by Coeur d’Alene Freedom Watch, the Arts Commission is seen expressing what any call a ‘disregard’ for the local community.

Bev Moss, a member of the Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission, asked “…do you think the symbol of the clenched fist would be controversial?

“Probably, but so…” responded Jennifer Drake, vice-chair of the Arts Commission.

"It's going to be the same handful of people who complain about it..." said Drake, referring to local Coeur d’Alene residents, adding that “it’s just the way life is.”

The artist, Rick Davis, claims to have been inspired by ‘human rights’ and ‘marginalized groups.’

This wouldn’t be the first time the controversial Arts Commission erected explicitly communist symbology at the tax-payers expense.

In 2019, Jennifer Drake responded to criticism after the Arts Commission erected a communist ‘Hammer & Sickle’ titled “Marker 11.”

Drakes response to public outcry from Coeur d’Alene residents who were genuinely shocked by the communist ‘art’ lacked any semblance of remorse.

“What I would call the 'official response' to this situation has been nothing short of disrespectful.” said Drake after the City of Coeur d’Alene moved the piece. “Disrespectful not just to me, but to all of the other [Arts] commissioners…”

The ‘Communist Fist’ is simply another example of the infantilized Arts Commission who’s taste in beauty resembles that of an elementary classroom — not the sort of art the conservative city of coeur d’Alene deserves.

The Arts Commission is consistently at odds with the residents of Coeur d’Alene, promoting controversial art, some of which is explicitly communist, while also appointing board members who’s personal portfolios include sexualized imagery.
