Mysterious Unidentified “BOOM” Captured On Camera: Shockwave Felt Throughout North Idaho – Similar Events Reported Across North America

What The Heck Was That?

Residents all over Kootenai County and beyond, heard and felt a massive boom, or explosion, around 7:15 pm on Saturday, December 3rd.

People immediately took to Facebook to find out what had happened:

Some Facebook “sleuths” began speculating that there could have been an explosion at the train yard in Rathdrum, or that something had happened at the Power Plant, but the Northern Lakes Fire Prevention District released a statement an hour after the explosion was heard confirming that this was not the case.

At around 8:30, the Kootenai County Sherriff’s office released a statement stating that his office had completed a facilities/event checklist and found no evidence of any physical damage in Kootenai County, nor had they located a source of the sound.

The sheriff said “they have concluded it was likely a sonic boom related to aviation or space.”

The “boom” was so explosive, it actually registered on local seismographs.

Reports of other mysterious booms have surfaced, that appear to have happened at or around the same time the explosion was seen and heard here in Idaho.

Asbury Park, New Jersey, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Buffalo, New York, and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada all reported similar “booms.”

Whether this was the result of a meteor, or some falling space debris or something else, what has left people the most confused is the video showing a light bloom that appears to originate from the ground.

At the time of writing, the cause of this mysterious “boom” remains unknown.
